Abstract of the Disclosure: Lignocellulose materials of improved strength, drainability och beatability are obtained by treating the material with di- or polyfunctional derivatives which react with hydroxyl groups in the cellulose material under formation of ionized or ionizable groups. The treated material can also be admixed with untreated lignocellulose material, whereby the entire mixture obtains the desired properties.
