A method for finding an agent which inhibits interaction between LIL-Stat protein and a nucleic acid having a LIL-Stat binding sequence is described. The LIL-Stat protein is contacted with the nucleic acid in the presence of an agent which inhibits or does not inhibit the interaction between the LIL-Stat protein and the nucleic acid. It is determined whether or not the agent inhibits this interaction. Also described are a method for treating an inflammatory response in a mammal, a therapeutic inhibitory agent suitable for treating or preventing an inflammatory response in a mammal, and DNA molecules having a DNA sequence encoding a binding site for the LIL-Stat protein.
Méthode de recherche d'un agent inhibant l'interaction entre la protéine LIL-Stat et un acide nucléique comprenant une séquence de liaison de LIL-Stat. On met ladite protéine LIL-Sat en contact avec l'acide nucléique en présence d'un agent qui inhibe ou non l'interaction entre la protéine LIL-Stat et l'acide nucléique. On détermine si l'agent inhibe ou non l'interaction. L'invention porte également sur une méthode de traitement d'une réponse inflammatoire chez un mammifère, sur un agent thérapeutique inhibiteur convenant au traitement ou à la prévention d'une réponse inflammatoire chez un mammifère, et sur des molécules d'ADN comprenant une séquence d'ADN codant un site de liaison pour la protéine LIL-Stat.
