The present invention relates to a linear block polymer which is particularly suitable for use as an implant in humans or animals, for example as ligaments. The block polymer comprises urea and urethane groups and has a molecular weight of at least 104 Dalton, preferably at least 105 Dalton and it also includes primary NH2 and/or OH end groups. Besides the use of the block polymer as an implant in a biological environment, the invention also includes a method for the production thereof, which method is characterized in that a prepolymer having two isocyanate end groups per molecule is chain extended with an aliphatic or aromatic diamine with a mol ratio NH2/NCO of 0.95 to 1.05.
L'invention concerne des polymères bloc linéaires convenant tout particulièrement à la réalisation d'implants chez l'homme et chez les animaux, par exemple comme ligaments. Le polymère bloc comprend des groupes urée et uréthane, il présente un poids moléculaire d'au moins 10?4¿ daltons, de préférence de 10?5¿ daltons, et il porte des groupes terminaux OH et/ou NH¿2? primaires. En plus de l'utilisation du polymère bloc sous forme d'implants biologiques, l'invention concerne également un procédé de production de ce polymère, consistant à allonger la chaîne d'un prépolymère ayant deux groupes isocyanate terminaux par molécule avec une diamine aliphatique ou aromatique, dans un rapport molaire NH¿2?/NCO de 0,95 à 1,05.
