A brake (10) having particular application for a linear motion device (12) includes a channel (82) secured to the base plate (14) in which a body (120) secured to the sliding plate (16) partially extends. A tape seal (112) of the channel (82) extends through a slot (180) formed in the body (120) so that the calipers (152) moveably mounted to the body (120) are located within a hollow interior of the channel (82). The calipers (152) include cylindrical carriers (154) slideably received in cross bores (130) in the body (120) and are biased to a disengaged position by a spring (164) sandwiched between a snap ring (162) in the cross bore (130) and the carrier (152). A diametric groove (156) is formed on the inner axial end of the carrier (154) and slideably receives a side (140) of an actuator element (138) which extends in a non-axial direction. The actuator element (138) is moveably mounted in an axial through bore (122) by first and second supports (142, 143) secured to the axial ends and including an elastomeric seal (144) to compliantly suspend the actuator element (138) in the through bore (122). The actuator element (138) is moved in a first axial direction by a spring (146) and in the opposite axial direction by fluid pressure in a fluid chamber.

L'invention concerne un frein (10) présentant une application particulière pour un dispositif à mouvement linéaire (12), qui comporte un canal (82) fixé à la plaque de base (14) dans laquelle un corps (120) fixé à la plaque coulissante (16) se prolonge partiellement. Un ruban d'étanchéité (112) du canal (82) traverse une fente (180) formée dans le corps (120) de façon que les étriers (152) solidaires mobiles du corps (120) sont placés dans un intérieur creux du canal (82). Ces étriers (152) comportent des supports cylindriques (154) reçus coulissant dans des passages transversaux (130) à l'intérieur creux du corps (120) et sollicités vers une position débrayée par un ressort (164) pris entre une bague à ressort (162) dans le passage transversal (130) et le support (152). Une rainure diamétrale (156) est formée sur l'extrémité axiale intérieure du support (154) et reçoit coulissant un côté (140) d'un élément actionneur (138) qui se prolonge dans une direction non axiale. L'élément actionneur (138) est monté mobile dans un orifice traversant (122) axial par un premier et un second supports (142, 143) fixés aux extrémités axiales et comprenant un joint élastomère (144) pour suspendre de manière conforme l'élément actionneur (138) dans l'orifice traversant (122). L'élément actionneur (138) est déplacé dans un premier sens axial par un ressort (146) et dans le sens axial opposé par pression fluidique dans une chambre à fluide.
