In one preferred embodiment, a linear stepper motor (20), including; a stator structure (32); an axially extending, cylindrical, permanent magnet shaft (30) magnetically interacting with the stator structure (32); and the axially extending, cylindrical, permanent magnet shaft (30) having a smooth surface along a portion thereof with axially alternating radial N and S poles (34, 36) defined in the smooth surface. The present invention also provides a method of magnetizing the shaft of such a motor and a fixture (100) and method of manufacturing the fixture therefor. In another preferred embodiment of the invention, there is provided a shaft (200) for a linear stepper motor that can permit rotational motion. In yet another preferred embodiment of the invention, an "inside-out" motor (300) is provided in which the linearly moving member (314) is external to the stator structure (312).

La présente invention concerne, selon un mode de réalisation préféré, un moteur pas-à-pas linéaire (20). Celui-ci comporte d'une part une structure d'induit (32) et d'autre part une tige aimant permanent (30) cylindrique venant dans l'axe. Elle est en interaction magnétique avec la structure d'induit (32). Cette tige (30) présente une surface lisse garnie, sur une partie de sa longueur, de pôles radiaux alternant axialement entre N et S (34, 36). L'invention concerne également, d'une part un procédé d'aimantation de la tige d'un tell moteur, et d'autre part un bâti (100) ainsi qu'un procédé de fabrication correspondant. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, on utilise une tige (200) pour moteur linéaire pas-à-pas capable de permettre un mouvement de rotation. L'invention concerne aussi, selon enfin un autre mode de réalisation préféré, un moteur dedans-dehors (300) dans lequel l'élément linéairement mobile (314) est externe à la structure d'induit (312).
