A waste bin construction consists of a waste bin in the form of a generally upwardly open container (30) having a base and one or more side walls (3). Running down a side wall is a vent tube (31) having one open end at or near the base and the other at or near the upper rim of the container. The lower end of the tube is connected to a housing (32) for the receipt of a deodorising block, over which air drawn through the vent tube (31) passes when a bin liner is lifted out of the container (30). The tube (31) and housing (32) may be retrofitted to an existing bin.
La construction de poubelle décrite consiste en une poubelle prenant la forme d~un conteneur (30) généralement ouvert vers le haut ayant une base et une ou plusieurs parois latérales (3). Si l~on rabaisse une paroi latérale, on aperçoit un tuyau d~aération (31) ayant une extrémité ouverte au niveau ou à proximité de la base et une autre extrémité au niveau ou à proximité du bord supérieur du conteneur. L~extrémité inférieure du tube est reliée à un boîtier (32) destiné à recevoir un bloc désodorisant sur lequel de l~air provenant du tuyau d~aération (31) passe lorsqu~un sac à ordure est sorti du conteneur (30). Le tube (31) et le boîtier (32) peuvent être fixés rétroactivement à une poubelle existante.
