A toothbrush that facilitates improved brushing of a lingual side of the teeth includes at least a head and as arrangement of bristles secured to a bristle-bearing surface of the head. In one embodiment, at least the bristle-bearing surface of the head is formed to approximate the geometric shape of the mouth on the lingual side of the teeth by, for example, including a convex curvature with respect to a brushing surface of the teeth. In another embodiment, bristles of varying lengths are secured to the bristle-bearing surface of the head to form an overall profile that approximates the general geometric shape of the mouth on the lingual side of the teeth. A curved or angled neck and an angled handle may also be included to improve maneuverability of the toothbrush in the mouth.

L'invention porte sur une brosse à dents (1000) améliorant le brossage du côté lingual des dents et comportant au moins une tête (1001) et une série de poils (1007) fixées sur une surface (1009) de la tête. Dans une exécution, au moins la surface portant les poils présente approximativement la forme de la bouche du côté lingual des dents et comporte par exemple une courbure convexe par rapport à la surface de brossage de la dent. Dans une autre exécution, les poils, de longueurs différentes, sont fixés à la tête de manière à former un profil approximativement semblable à la géométrie de la bouche du côté lingual des dents; on peut également prévoir un col (1003) incurvé ou coudé et un manche (1005) pour améliorer la maniabilité de la brosse dans la bouche.
