A B S T R A C T A lining for protecting coke-oven-chamber doors has a flat outer side, remote from the body of the door, and longitudinal sides which have part- surfaces converging outwardly and inwardly. The lining consists of a plural- ity of refractory bricks and adapted to be fitted together with a rear lining made of a heat-insulating material, to the body of the door which is preferably made of cast-iron. These prebaked bricks are of the same width as the lining and have through passages for the accommodation of recessed bolts the ends of the said bolts being screwed into holes threaded in the door. The lowermost brick forms the support on the brick-holder, with one of the following bricks serving as an adaptor for purposes of height equalization.
