2085129 9200467 PCTABS00010 A linkage rod (11) for absorbing shocks and vibrations has a housing (14) with a central bore (22). A spacer tube (38) and a spacer load plate (40) are inserted into the central bore (22). Several resilient members (46) preferably formed of crimped metal wire strands are located in the central bore (22) between the spacer load plate (40) and a piston load plate (48). A mounting member (16) has a shoulder (65) formed between body (60) and neck portions (62). A snubber cap (56) having a central opening (70) with an inwardly-directed wall (71) is positioned around the mounting member (16). A snubber nut (58) is attached to the mounting member (16) to trap the inwardly-directed wall (71) between the snubber nut (58) and the shoulder (65). The snubber cap (56) is fastened to the housing (14) and the mounting member (16) may move axially relative to the housing (14). The resilient members (46) resist axial movement of the mounting member (16).
