-1- Abstract: A lint and raveling (waste) collector for a clothes dryer comprises a filter and a collecting box. The filter has a net-like filter member, and at least one rib is provided on the surface of the filter member to prevent friction between itself and the clothing. The collecting box has an opening facing the rib and covers the filter in such a manner as to define a space for accumulating the waste between the filter and the inner wall of the collecting box. By virtue of the rib, the waste cannot pass through the interstices of the filter member, and clothing is prevented from directly rubbing against the surface of the filter member. The accumulation of waste on the surface of the filter member does not exceed the height of the rib, any additional waste being collected in the collector. The arrangement is more efficient and requires cleaning less often than prior constructions.
