A lip-openable lid (50) is used in connection with a container (10) or container cap (20) having a valve seat (28) and an opening for egress of the container contents. The lid (50) is comprised of a gasket (100) with a lip- engageable annular wall (102), a central portion radially inward of the wall, and a peripheral flange (104) that is engageable with the valve seat (28). The lid includes a rigid support (200) that has liquid flow openings, supports the central portion of the gasket and positions the gasket against the valve seat. The lid (50) can also include means for securing the gasket to the support. The central portion of the gasket is comprised of a flexible elastomer and is capable of flexing and stretching to displace the flange (104) from the valve seat (28) when downward pressure is applied against the gasket. When downward pressure is applied, the central portion of the gasket contacts the rigid support (200) and flexes and stretches downward from and/or over the rigid support. The annular wall and the flange can be comprised of flexible elastomeric material. The flange can include a rigidifying material.

L'invention concerne un couvercle (50), s'ouvrant avec les lèvres, qui s'utilise avec un récipient (10) ou un capuchon (20) de récipient présentant un siège (28) de clapet et une ouverture de sortie du contenu du récipient. Lorsqu'une telle pression est exercée, la partie centrale du joint d'étanchéité vient au contact du support rigide (200) et fléchit et s'allonge vers le bas depuis et/ou sur le support rigide. La paroi annulaire et le rebord peuvent être composés d'un matériau élastomère souple. Le rebord peut comporter un matériau rigidifiant.
