The present invention is directed to novel nucleic acid and amino acid sequences associated with the metabolism of seed storage compounds in plants. A novel discovery described herein lies in the identification of the nucleic acid sequences that encode the wri1 genetic locus in Arabidopsis thaliana, and lipid metabolism regulator (LMR) polynucleotide sequences contained therein. Preferably, the seed storage compounds are lipids, fatty acids, starches or seed storage proteins.

La présente invention concerne des nouvelles séquences d'acides nucléiques et d'amino-acides associées au métabolisme de composés de stockage de semences dans les végétaux. Cette invention porte sur la découverte de séquences d'acides nucléiques qui codent pour le locus génétique wri1 dans <i>Arabidopsis thaliana</i>, et de séquences polynucléotidiques du régulateur de métabolisme lipidique (LMR) comprises dans ces séquences d'acides nucléiques. Les composés de stockage de semences sont de préférence des lipides, des acides gras, des amidons ou des protéines de stockage de semences.
