A pharmacologically active peptide hormone derivative in which the parent peptide hormone has been modified by introducing either a lipophilic substituent, W, in the N-terminal amino acid or a lipophilic substituent, Z, in the C-terminal amino acid of the parent peptide hormone or an analogue thereof, said lipophilic substituent having from 8 to 40 carbon atoms, has a protracted profile of action.

L'invention concerne des dérivés d'hormones peptidiques pharmacologiquement actifs dans lesquels l'hormone peptidique primitive a été modifiée par l'introduction d'un substituant lipophile, W, dans l'acide aminé N-terminal, ou bien par un substituant lipophile, Z, dans l'acide aminé C-terminal de ladite hormone, ou bien encore par un analogue, le substituant lipophile en question ayant de 8 à 40 atomes de carbone. Les dérivés considérés présentent un profil d'action prolongée.
