A B S T R A C T Here is disclosed a liquid absorbent block used as absorber means for industrial waste fluid originating from various plants, construction sites, hospitals or other facilities, comprising a mixture of at least two components, the one being a plurality of chips each having synthetic fibrous base material and high liquid absorbent polymer having been fixed thereon during its polymerization and the other being hydrophilic cellulose fibre, wherein the mixture of said chips oriented at random and said hydrophilic cellulose fibre is integrated under compressed condition to form the block. - 13 -
