A liquid-absorbing material composition containing a crosslinking agent (component A), N-vinylcarboxamide copolymer (component B) having a functional group capable of crosslinking with the component A, water (component C), a water-soluble organic solvent (component D) and a plasticizer (component E), a molded liquid-absorbing material prepared from the composition, a method of manufacturing the molded liquid-absorbing material, and uses thereof are provided. The liquid-absorbing material composition has a high flowability, and gives a uniform continuous layer so that it can be directly molded readily into film- or sheet-shaped molded liquid-absorbing material without requiring secondary processing as in the case of conventional water-absorbing polymer. Use of the liquid-absorbing material composition allows manufacture in short time of molded products which are excellent in liquid-absorbing performance that can be utilized as a freshness retaining agent, a moisture-conditioning agent, an agricultural and horticultural water-retaining sheet, a soil improving agent, an anti-dewing agent, sanitary goods, a waste liquid solidifying material, a water preventing sheet, a water running preventing shielding material, a pharmaceutical, a medical tool, a humectant or desiccant. 64
Composition absorbant les liquides, renfermant un agent de réticulation (constituant A), un copolymère de N-vinylcarboxamide (constituant B), avec un groupe fonctionnel permettant la réticulation avec le constituant A, de l'eau (constituant C), un solvant organique hydrosoluble (constituant D) et un plastifiant (constituant E); produit moulé absorbant les liquides, préparé à partir de cette composition; procédé de fabrication dudit produit et applications. La composition absorbant les liquides possède une grande fluidité, et donne une couche uniforme continue, ce qui permet de l'incorporer facilement et directement par moulage dans un produit moulé absorbant les liquides, en forme de pellicule ou de feuille, sans qu'un traitement secondaire soit nécessaire, comme dans le cas de polymères classiques absorbant l'eau. L'utilisation de la composition permet de fabriquer en peu de temps des produits possédant d'excellentes qualités d'absorption de liquides, notamment des agents conservant la fraîcheur, des agents de conditionnement de l'humidité, une feuille retenant l'eau pour l'agriculture et l'horticulture, un agent pour l'amélioration du sol, un agent anti-humidification, des produits d'hygiène, une substance pour la solidification de liquides résiduels, une feuille arrêtant l'eau, une substance-écran pour empêcher la circulation d'eau, un produit pharmaceutique, un instrument médical, un humectant, enfin un produit déshydratant.
