A liquid-absorbing pad and method of making same are provided wherein such pad comprises a liquid impervious layer having opposed surfaces and an absorbent layer attached to the liquid impervious layer against one of the opposed surfaces and in which the liquid-absorbing layer consists of a single layer of knitted cloth having an exposed front portion, a central base portion, and a back portion with the central base portion serving to hold the front and back portions together while providing an integral structural separation therebetween and with the front portion being made entirely of synthetic material.

Cette invention concerne un tampon absorbant et la méthode de fabrication du tampon qui comprend une couche imperméable et une couche absorbante fixé à une des faces de la première, la couche absorbante étant en tissu maille monocouche présentant une partie frontale exposée, une partie centrale et une partie arrière. La partie centrale sert à relier les deux autres parties du tampon tout en constituant une séparation structurale intégrée, la partie frontale étant entièrement faite de matériau synthétique.
