A liquid formulation of alendronic acid, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt has enough buffer so that the pH of the formulation is 4-7.5, and 15 ml of the formulation is able to raise the pH of 50 ml of 0.1N HC1 from 1 to at least 3, and preferably 4.

Cette formulation liquide d'acide alendronique ou d'un sel acceptable du point de vue pharmaceutique renferme un tampon en quantité suffisante pour que son pH soit compris entre 4 et 7,5 et que 15 ml de ladite formulation soit à même de faire passer le pH de 50 ml de 0,1N HCL de 1 à 3 au moins et, de préférence, à 4.
