ABSTRACT A liquid-cooled resistor is made out of a tubular ceramic carrier having good heat-conductivity and comprising a resistance-winding or-layer applied to the outside. The interior of the ceramic carrier is filled with a restrictive element in such a manner as to impart a high flow-velocity to cooling liquid passing through the ceramic carrier. A sealing element closes the residual gap, caused by production tolerances, between the ceramic carrier and the restrictive element. Cooling properties and flow-resistance remain constant in spite of ceramic carrier production tolerances.
