Liquid phase liquid crystal polymers (LCPs) are disclosed having a composition and structure that can be varied to provide desirable properties. The liquid phase LCPs have polyiminoborane, polyarninoborane, and/or borozine polymer backbone molecules, with silicon and/or phosphorous side chain molecules linked to the backbone that provide a degree of alignment assigned an Order Parameter (8), defmed as S = 1/3 [3 cos2 e -1 ], where e is the angle between the axis of an LCP molecule and the vertical direction. The inventive liquid phase LCPs have an average Order Parameter in the range of about 0.2 to about 0.99 and are applicable to a number ofrinse, coolant, lubricant, sterilization and other protectant processes.
L'invention concerne des PCL en phase liquide, à composition et structure variables en fonction des propriétés souhaitées, ayant la structure suivante: molécules de squelette, à savoir polymères de polyiminoborane, de polyarninoborane, et/ou de borozine, et liaison entre ces molécules et des molécules de chaîne latérale, à savoir silicium et/ou phosphore, donnant un degré d'alignement auquel on attribue un paramètre d'ordre (S), défini par la relation S = 1/3 [3 cos?2¿ .theta. -1 ]. Dans cette relation, .theta. est l'angle entre l'axe d'une molécule de PCL et la direction verticale. Les PCL considérés présentent un paramètre d'ordre moyen compris entre environ 0,2 et environ 0,99, et on peut les utiliser pour un certain nombre de procédés du type rinçage, refroidissement, lubrification, stérilisation, et autres applications de protection.
