Liquid crystalline polymer having repeat units derived from 4,4'-biphenol, terephthalic acid, 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid in a limited compositional range have melting points of 400oC or more, and are useful for molded articles and for films, particularly for uses where good high temperature resistance is needed.

L'invention concerne un polymère cristallin liquide comprenant des unités de répétition dérivées de 4,4'-biphénol, de l'acide téréphtalique, de l'acide 2,6-naphthalènedicarboxylique et de l'acide 4-hydroxybenzoïque dans une plage de composition limitée. Les points de fusion dudit polymère sont de 400¿??C ou plus. Ledit polymère est utilisé pour des articles moulés et des films, en particulier, pour des utilisations dans lesquelles une bonne résistance à une température élevée est nécessaire.
