In an ebullated bed reactor it has keen found that an improved gas-liquid separator effectively removes gas from recycle liquid used to ebullate the catalyst bed. The gas-liquid separator comprises a cup with a plurality of riser conduits. Helical members are positioned within the riser conduits which impart a tangential velocity component to the fluid. Cyclone separators effect the final liquid-vapor separation. Vapor is directed to a vapor rich zone in the reactor.
L'utilisation d'un séparateur gaz-liquide amélioré dans un réacteur à combustible en suspension permet d'éliminer efficacement le gaz du liquide de recyclage servant à maintenir le catalyseur en suspension. Ce séparateur gaz-liquide comprend un contenant muni de plusieurs tubes. Des éléments hélicoïdaux installés dans ces tubes impriment une composante tangentielle au mouvement du fluide. La séparation finale du liquide et de la vapeur est réalisée grâce à des séparateurs cyclones. La vapeur est acheminée vers une zone riche en vapeur du réacteur.
