A liquid delivery apparatus is disclosed which includes a frame supporting a drum. The frame is adapted for displacement relative to a ground surface (3) having plant matter (4,5,6) and the drum is rotatably disposed relative to the frame at a rest position (H2) having a height above said ground surface which allows for engagement of an outer circumferential surface (9) of the drum with at least some of said plant matter (4,5). The apparatus has at least one applicator for application of a liquid onto the circumferential surface such that the liquid is transferable to at least some of the plant matter as the frame is displaced relative to said ground surface. Preferably, the drum is retractably mounted to the frame such that the drum retracts from the rest position upon engagement with a ground obstacle (17) and returns to the rest position subsequent to engagement with the ground obstacle. Another embodiment includes at least one applicator for application of a liquid onto the circumferential surface, the applicator providing a variable liquid application profile along a length of the outer circumferential surface. Yet another embodiment discloses a saturation sensor for determining the degree of saturation of liquid on the circumferential surface of the drum, the saturation sensor providing a measurement of the weight of the drum.
L'invention concerne un appareil de distribution de liquide; qui comprend un bâti servant de support à un tambour. Le bâti est adapté pour se déplacer relativement à une surface du sol (3) présentant des matières végétales (4, 5, 6), et le tambour est disposé de manière à effectuer une rotation relativement au bâti, dans une position de repos (H2) où une hauteur située au-dessus de ladite surface du sol permet à une surface circonférentielle extérieure (9) du tambour de venir au contact d'au moins une partie desdites matières végétales (4, 5). L'appareil comprend au moins un applicateur servant à appliquer un liquide sur la surface circonférentielle, de façon à transférer le liquide vers au moins une partie des matières végétales lorsque le bâti est déplacé relativement à la surface du sol. De préférence, le tambour est monté sur le bâti de façon à quitter la position de repos pour aller au contact d'un obstacle au sol (17), puis à revenir à ladite position de repos après ledit contact avec l'obstacle au sol. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'appareil comprend un applicateur servant à appliquer un liquide sur la surface circonférentielle. L'applicateur présente un profil d'application du liquide variable sur une longueur de la surface circonférentielle extérieure. Dans un autre mode de réalisation encore, l'appareil comprend un capteur de saturation qui détermine le degré de saturation du liquide sur la surface circonférentielle du tambour, et fournit une mesure du poids du tambour.
