LIQUID DEVELOPER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A liquid developer suitable for use in electro- photography is composed of a highly insulating carrier liquid, toner particles comprising pigment particles that are coated with resin soluble in the carrier liquid and resin insoluble in the carrier liquid and dye functioning as a polarity impart- ing agent, and a crude rubber that is opposite in polarity to the dye. The toner particles and the crude rubber are mixed in the carrier liquid and the degree of charge and the charge characteristics of the liquid developer can be varied by controlling the relative amounts of dye and crude rubber.
