ABSTRACT A liquid dispersal nozzle for automatic drain valves of agricultural irrigation systems, such as wheel line sprinklers, includes a hollow body and first and second spaced end walls, a bore extending substantially perpen- dicular through the first end wall, a plurality of openings in the side wall of the body communicating with a passage which is formed interiorly of the body and also communicates with the bore and has a cross-sectional area which increases smoothly from the junction of the passage and the bore to the respective side openings and an internally threaded portion of the central bore for attachment of the body to the drainage end portion of a drain valve. The dispersal nozzle provides for a larger more even horizontal spread of the water drained from the irrigation line, thus reducing erosion of topsoil and damage to crops. The liquid dispersal nozzle further provides for the fast drainage of an irrigation line tubing, reducing operating time and cost as well as material costs. PAT 1615-1
