A fine mesh screen structure (22) is mounted along a wall in the path of a flow of liquid to divide and split larger size liquid drops into much smaller droplets which are dispersed without agglomeration. In a preferred embodiment, a series of support angle brackets are spaced along the length of a sloped roof end around the perimeter of the building. Support bars extend outwardly from the brackets to hold the mesh screen in the path of rainwater falling from the roof. The support bars may hold the mesh at an acute downward angle several inches below the roof to provide sufficient momentum for the drops to be forced through the mesh for size reduction. In another embodiment, the screen may be positioned along an internal wall within a cooling tower in the path of water distributions to similarly reduce the size of water droplets which can be more effective for the cooling function.
L'invention concerne une structure de crible à mailles fines (22) montée le long d'une paroi sur le trajet d'un écoulement de liquide, conçue pour diviser et répartir de grandes gouttes de liquide en gouttelettes plus petites qui sont dispersées sans agglomération. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, des équerres d'appui, espacées le long d'une extrémité de toit incliné, entourent le périmètre du bâtiment. Des tiges de soutien, s'étendant vers l'extérieur depuis les équerres, maintiennent le crible à mailles dans le trajet de l'eau de pluie tombant du toit. Les tiges de soutien peuvent tenir les mailles suivant un angle aigu orienté vers le bas à plusieurs inches en dessous du toit, ce qui confère aux gouttes une impulsion suffisante pour forcer leur passage à travers les mailles et obtenir une diminution de leur taille. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, on positionne le crible le long d'une paroi interne à l'intérieur d'une tour de refroidissement sur le trajet des distributions d'eau de façon à réduire également la taille des gouttelettes d'eau, ce qui peut s'avérer plus efficace pour la fonction de refroidissement.
