A self-closing liquid distribution valve, particularly for esculent liquids, essentially consisting of a body (1) for mounting said valve in the opening of a container, and a liquid release plunger (2) engaging a resilient sealing membrane (3) secured to said body (1). The valve is provided with a means (4', 4") for retaining the plunger (2) in the open position.
