A liquid flow control valve comprising a casing (10) and a sealing member (22) within the casing, wherein the sealing member divides the casing into a first chamber (24) and a second chamber (26), wherein the sealing member (22) provides for restricted liquid flow (40) from the first (24) to the second chamber (26), the casing (10) including a liquid inlet port (14) which opens into the first chamber (24) and a liquid outlet port (20), a valve operating member (32, 30) in the second chamber (26) and operable on the sealing member (22) and co-operable therewith to seal the outlet port (20), wherein the valve operating member (32, 30) is operable by liquid pressure due to liquid which flows into the second chamber (26) from the first chamber (24) via the sealing member's restricted flow passage (40) to initially co-operate with the sealing member (22) to substantially prevent liquid flow from the second chamber (26) through the outlet port (20) via the sealing member (22), and subsequently to co-operat with the sealing member (22) to seal the outlet port (20), wherein the operating member (32, 30) is externally actuable (via arm 32, typically by a float) to break the seal for liquid to flow from the first and second chambers through the outlet port and is released upon removal of the external actuation for operation by said liquid pressure, wherein the restricted liquid flow (40) into the second chamber and the pressure thereof relative to liquid pressures at the outlet port provides for controlled closure of the valve.

L'invention concerne une soupape régulatrice de débit liquide qui comprend un boîtier (10) et élément d'étanchéité (22) logé dans le boîtier. L'élément d'étanchéité divise le boîtier en un premier compartiment (24) et un second compartiment (26) et permet un écoulement limité du liquide du premier compartiment (24) au second compartiment (26). Le boîtier (10) comprend un orifice d'admission du liquide (14) s'ouvrant dans le premier compartiment (24) et un orifice de sortie du liquide (20). L'élément de manoeuvre de la soupape (32, 30) est actionné par la pression exercée par le liquide s'écoulant du premier compartiment (24) vers le second compartiment (26) à travers le passage d'écoulement limité (40) de l'élément d'étanchéité, de manière à coopérer initialement avec ce dernier pour entraver considérablement l'écoulement du liquide depuis le second compartiment (26), à travers l'orifice de sortie du liquide (20), par le biais de l'élément d'étanchéité (22); de manière à coopérer ensuite avec l'élément d'étanchéité (22) pour fermer l'orifice de sortie du liquide (20). L'élément de manoeuvre de la soupape (32, 30) peut être actionné de l'extérieur (au moyen d'un bras (32), généralement par un ballonnet) de façon à rompre le joint étanche et à permettre au liquide de s'écouler du premier au second compartiment par l'orifice de sortie. L'élément de manoeuvre de la soupape est ensuite libéré par l'interruption de la manoeuvre externe qui rétablit la pression du liquide. L'écoulement fluidique limité (40) dans le second compartiment et la pression qui en résulte relativement à la pression du liquide au niveau de l'orifice de sortie assurent une fermeture régulée de la soupape.
