ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wick assembly for a liquid fuel combustion apparatus is structured by laminating a main wick and an auxiliary wick, and sandwiching a separator of an oil-impermeable material therebetween. By being so structured, deterioration of the main wick can be avoided which otherwise would result in a loss of heat production. A material having a large oil containing ability can be selected for the main wick, and the distance between the oil level and top of the wick can be made shorter. Fire-spreading time of the wick assembly after a lapse of long service period is still as short as that at the beginning of the service, and generation of an objectional odor and carbon monoxide at the time of ignition can be suppressed.
