An improved liquid paperboard product with reduced edgewick sizing properties is produced through the incorporation of a calcium carbonate filler in amounts of up to 10.0 weight percent. The filler enhances the retention and reactivity of a sizing agent such as alkyl ketene dimers which in combination further inhibits liquid penetration into liquid paperboard substrates.

Cette invention se rapporte à un produit d'emballage en carton amélioré pour liquides ayant des propriétés d'encollage avec effet de mèche réduit dans les bords, qui est produit par l'incorporation d'une charge de carbonate de calcium en quantités de 10,0 % en poids au maximum. La charge ainsi incorporée améliore la rétention et la réactivité d'un agent d'encollage, tel que des dimères d'alkyl-cétène qui, par effet conjoint, empêchent encore davantage la pénétration des liquides dans les substrats en carton de ces emballages pour liquides.
