In preparation for a medical procedure utilizing a medical instrument such as a high intensity focused ultrasound probe sterile water is gravity fed to a reservoir container through a hydrophobic hollow fiber or membrane filter connected to a vacuum pump, whereby the reservoir container is filled with degassed sterile water. The reservoir is operatively connected to the medical instrument in a hydraulic circuit through which the degassed sterile water is pumped from the reservoir container. The circuit is purged of air and then closed to render the medical instrument in condition for a medical procedure.

L'invention concerne un appareil utilisable, lors de la préparation d'un acte médical faisant appel à un instrument médical comme une sonde à ultrasons focalisés à haute intensité, pour amener par gravité de l'eau stérile à un récipient de réservoir à travers un filtre à membrane ou à fibres creuses hydrophobes relié à une pompe à vide, le récipient de réservoir étant ainsi rempli d'eau stérile dégazée. Le réservoir est relié fonctionnellement à l'instrument médical dans un circuit hydraulique à travers lequel l'eau stérile dégazée est pompée à partir du récipient de réservoir. Le circuit est purgé de l'air qu'il contient, puis fermé pour mettre l'instrument médical en état pour un acte médical.
