ABSTRACT In an arrangement to minimize the cooling liquid consumption, and - if necessary - to prevent cavitation, especially in Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps or the like, a separator is provided in the exhaust pipe (21, 22) of the liquid ring vacuum pump (10). The separator is built as a single- or multi-stage Gas-Liquid-Separator (11) with a temperature sensor (12) and is located in the tank or in the circulating pipe, in the exhaust pipe (21, 22) or in the vacuum pump (10) for controlling the operating temperature in the liquid ring vacuum pump. The temperature sensor is connected through a control device with the adjusting valve (14) in the cooling liquid pipe (15).
