A wax removal and recovery system and method for dental molds wherein the wax is removed in a first container by means of hot water, the wax being maintained in a liquid state, the wax and hot water being discharged into a second container which by means of a baffle separates the wax from the water, the second container having separate water and wax outlets whereby the wax may be discharged and recovered.
