ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Labile coenzyme, such as nicotinamide-adenide dinucleotide, reduced (NADH2) is stabilized by treatment with organic sol- vent such as 1,2 propanediol in the presence of at least 1% by volume of a solid, inert hydroscopic agent such as 10% by volume of molecular sieve. The stabilized composition shows excellent shelf life and the container may be repeatedly opened for use without degradation of labile NADH2. In another embodiment of the invention, the hygroscopic agent may be removed after stabilization has been achieved.
