ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE improved highly compatible liquid stabilizers con- taining 0.6 to 10% by weight of a Group II metal halide sufficient water to dissolve the metal halide, and 44.25 to 99.75% by weight of an ethoxylated alkylphenol and op- tionally also up to 55% by weight of a member (d) selected from the group consisting of (1) a liquid fatty acid con- taining 4 to 18 carbon atoms, (2) a polyglyceral partial ester derived from a polyglycerol containing 2 to 10 con- densed glycerol units and having not more than 75% of the available hydroxyl groups esterified with an aromatic or aliphatic monocarboxylic acid containing 6 to 24 car- bon atoms and (3) mixtures of said liquid fatty acids and said polyglycerol partial esters are provided to impart superior thermal stability to PVC resins while minimizing early colour formation.
