The present invention relates to a specially designed float device called a "Lite- Bite" Strike Indicator. It is made to be fished through the ice in moderate temperatures, in zero degree temperatures and especially in below zero degree temperatures. It can be fished very effectively on either open ice conditions or inside a ash hut using a rod and reel. To my knowledge in researching this topic, there is no other that is similar and does not freeze up in sub-zero conditions. The "Lite-Bite" Strike Indicator can be manufactured from any highly bouyant materials. Two preferred materials are polystyrene foam and balsa wood. By using injection molds of varying sizes with polystyrene foam these "Lite-Bite" indicators can be molded in one piece with the short piece of monofilament (2"-4") incorporated into the bottom of the injection mold before molding occurs. This would provide for a very cost-effective method of production as opposed to the 3-piece balsa wood production. (See Fig. #3 and #4) A micro clip could be tied to the monofilament or attached by means of a piece of black heat shrink tubing.
