ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of treating a prensensitized printing plate is described wherein the method comprises subjecting a presensitized printing plate precursor to imagewise exposure to light, development and burning-in treatment, in which an aqueous solution containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polystyrenesulfonic acids and salts thereof is applied to the printing plate after the development but prior to the burning-in treatment. A lithographic printing plate thus produced is also described.
