LITHOGRAPHIC SUBSTRATE AND ITS PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE ABSTRACT Lithographic printing substrates ordinarily require a mechanical or chemical graining of aluminum surfaces. Such substrates are difficult and expensive to make. It has been found that a lithographically suit- able substrate on an aluminum surface can be provided by the firing of at least one monobasic phosphate solution on substrates having an aluminum surface.
