ABSTRACT A livestock confinement pasture machine which includes a confinement unit for confining livestock within a defined area. A drive assembly is mounted upon the confinement unit for moving the confinement unit at a preset speed. The drive assembly and the direction of movement of the confinement unit are controlled by a steering unit which operates to sense and follow a preformed direction control path for the livestock confinement pasture machine. If the confinement unit engages a large obstacle or the steering unit loses the direction control path, disengagement units are provided to terminate operation of the drive assembly.
