A conveyor belt having rodless, living hinges and a method for making such a belt. One version of the belt has spaced apart belt modules (22) joined by tension members (54) spanning the gaps (52) between consecutive modules (22). The tension members bend in the gaps (52) to allow the belt to articulate. Resilient fillers encapsulate the tension members (54) and, together with top surfaces of the modules (22), form a generally continuous article-contacting belt surface (34). The belt may be made by molding the rigid belt modules (22) and the resilient fillers onto an arrangement of elongated tension members.

L'invention porte sur une bande transporteuse comportant des charnières vives sans tige et sur un procédé pour fabriquer cette bande. Une version de la bande comporte des modules de bande mutuellement espacés (22) réunis par des éléments de traction (54) s'étendant sur les espaces (52) entre des modules consécutifs (22). Les éléments de traction se courbent dans les espaces (52) de façon à permettre à la bande d'être articulée. Des charges élastiques encapsulent les éléments de traction (54), et, avec les surfaces supérieures des modules (22), forment une surface de bande de contact d'article globalement continu (34).
