A method (100) for creating a load balanced spatial partitioning of a structured, diffusing system of particles with pairwise interactions, comprises steps of: assigning a weight corresponding to a computational cost for a pair interaction of particles to a simulation space distance between the particles (106); performing a spatial partitioning (108) of the simulation space; and assigning computation of pair interaction to any node that has the positions of both particles (110). The method can also be implemented as machine executable instructions executed by a programmable information processing system or as hard coded logic in a specialized computing apparatus (200) such as an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC).

L'invention concerne un procédé (100) de création d'une séparation spatiale à charge équilibrée d'un système de diffusion structuré de particules avec des interactions par paires. Ce procédé consiste à affecter un poids correspondant à un coût informatique d'une interaction par paire de particules à une distance spatiale de simulation entre les particules (106); à réaliser une séparation spatiale (108) de l'espace de simulation et à affecter le calcul de l'interaction par paire à un noeud quelconque ayant les positions des deux particules (110). Ce procédé peut être appliqué comme instructions exécutables par une machine et exécutées par un système de traitement d'informations programmable ou comme logique à codage en dur dans un appareil de calcul spécialisé (200) tel qu'un circuit intégré spécifique à l'application (ASIC).
