A load bed has a pair of long-sills, a number of cross-sills joined to the long-sills, and a flooring joined to the cross-sills. The cross-sills, which extend transversely of the long-sills, are provided with gang nails which protrude upwardly from a top surface of the cross-sills. The gang nails are embedded into the flooring and serve to secure the flooring to the cross- sills. Assembly of the load bed involves securing the cross-sills to the long- sills and pressing the flooring onto the cross-sills so as to cause the gang nails to embed into the flooring. No screws or bolts are required.
