ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Clamping apparatus for clamping a load cell enclosure to a beam to measure loading stress in the beam is disclosed. The cell enclosure has flanges extending outwardly in opposite directions from the enclosure. Clamping devices having opposing jaws clamp the flanges to the beam. Flexing in the beam is translated to the stress sensing transducer of the load cell via the clamping of the flanges to the beam. This system avoids welding the prior type of load cell enclosure to a beam.
