-27- ABSTRACT An improved load compensating roller support for a device having upper and lower frames moveable with respect to each other and having conical shaped roller bearings, each of which is rotatably mounted on a stretchable rod whereby when a load exceeding a prede- termined amount is placed on one of said bearings, the rod temporarily stretches allowing the bearing to move axially along the converging inclined surfaces of the upper and lower bearing rails so as to allow the bearing to self-adjust and allow the upper and lower bearing rails to move closer together and cause the load to be distributed to adjacent bearings during relative movement of said upper and lower frames with respect to each other.
