A dimmer switch for controlling the amount of power delivered to and thus the intensity of a lighting load comprises a visual display operable to provide a visual indication representative of energy savings and usage information. The visual display may comprise a single visual indicator or a linear array of visual indicators. The visual display is illuminated in a first manner when the intensity of the lighting load is less than or equal to a predetermined eco-level intensity, and is illuminated in a second manner when the intensity of the lighting load is greater than the eco-level intensity. For example, the single visual indicator may be illuminated a first color, such as green, when the intensity of the lighting load is less than or equal to the eco-level intensity, and illuminated a second different color, such as red, when the intensity of the lighting load is greater than the eco-level intensity.
Un variateur dintensité déclairage qui permet de contrôler la quantité de puissance délivrée à une charge déclairage et donc lintensité de cette charge comprend un dispositif daffichage servant à donner une indication visuelle représentative des informations déconomie et dutilisation de lénergie. Ledit dispositif daffichage peut comporter un seul indicateur visuel ou un ensemble dindicateurs visuels disposés en ligne. Ce dispositif daffichage séclaire dune première façon lorsque lintensité de la charge déclairage est inférieure ou égale à une intensité de niveau « éco » prédéterminée, et dune seconde façon lorsque lintensité de la charge déclairage est supérieure à ladite intensité de niveau « éco ». Par exemple, léclairage de lunique indicateur visuel peut être dune première couleur, telle que le vert, lorsque lintensité de la charge déclairage est inférieure ou égale à lintensité de niveau « éco », et dune seconde couleur différente de la première, telle que le rouge, lorsque lintensité de la charge déclairage est supérieure à lintensité de niveau « éco ».
