ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A load control for an engine of an agricultural vehicle provided with a rotary working implement avoids excessive deviation of the working depth of the working implement while preventing the engine from stopping under heavy overloading. The rotary working implement is automatically raised and lowered in accordance with sensed values of the engine rotation speed and of the actual working depth. To prevent engine failure, the rotary working implement is unconditionally raised whenever the sensed engine rotation speed falls below a predetermined value.
