The load restraining system for refrigerated vehi- cles having insulated ceiling/roof structures (30). The ceil- ing/roof is provided with a downwardly facing ceiling sur- face having a multiplicity of sockets (20) spaced substan- tially throughout the ceiling. Vertically extendible poles (8) have a projection (24) on the upper end for engaging a socket and thereby locating the upper end of the pole against horizontal movement in any direction. The lower end of each pole has a foot (78) for engaging the floor in a manner to inhibit horizontal movement in any direction. Numerous poles can be positioned throughout the refrig- erated vehicle at virtually infinitely variable locations to restrain loads of different sizes.

Système de retenue de charges pour véhicules réfrigérés ayant des structures de plafond/toit isolées (30). Le plafond ou le toit est doté d'une surface de plafond tournée vers le bas et présentant plusieurs logements femelles (20) sensiblement espacés. Des poteaux extensibles verticalement (18) présentent une saillie (24) sur leur extrémité supérieure, qui s'engage dans un logement femelle et immobilise ladite extrémité supérieure contre tout mouvement horizontal dans quelque direction que ce soit. L'extrémité inférieure de chaque poteau comporte un pied (78) qui vient en contact avec le plancher de sorte que tout mouvement horizontal soit empêché dans quelque direction que ce soit. Plusieurs poteaux peuvent être placés dans le véhicule réfrigéré, à divers emplacements multiples, pour la retenue de charges de différentes tailles.
