A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for recording and/or reproducing information signals with the use of a tape cassette is provided with a pair of reel shafts, each having an engaging member mounted with a bias towards the end of the supporting shaft, and a tape cassette transfer mechanism adapted for shifting the tape cassette inserted by way of the cassette inserting opening in a first direction normal to the reel shafts and guiding or loading the tape cassette for inserting and engaging the reel shafts with a pair of tape reels within the tape cassette. When at least the tape cassette transfer mechanism is set at a position facing the cassette inserting opening, the tape cassette is moved by the tape cassette transfer mechanism towards the proximal side of reel shafts, to reduce the displacement in the second direction of the tape reel of the tape cassette by the tape cassette transfer mechanism to a value lesser than the thickness of the tape cassette to reduce the thickness of the apparatus. After completion of the tape cassette loading by the tape cassette transfer mechanism, the tape cassette is partially exposed to the cassette inserting opening to prevent a second tape cassette from being introduced into the cassette inserting opening after completion of loading of the first-mentioned cassette.
L'invention est un appareil d'enregistrement et/ou de lecture de signaux d'information qui utilise une cassette de bande magnétique. Cet appareil est doté d'une paire d'axes de bobine ayant chacun un élément d'embrayage monté avec une force de pression dirigée vers l'extrémité de l'axe de soutien, et un mécanisme de transfert de cassette adapté pour décaler dans une première direction normale aux axes de bobine la cassette insérée dans l'ouverture d'insertion et pour guider la cassette de façon à engrener ces axes avec la paire d'axes qui se trouve à l'intérieur de la cassette. Quand ce mécanisme de transfert est placé vis-à-vis l'ouverture d'insertion de la cassette, il déplace celle-ci vers le côté proximal des axes de bobines pour réduire le déplacement dans la seconde direction de la bobine de la cassette par un mécanisme de transfert à une distance inférieure à l'épaisseur de la cassette pour réduire l'épaisseur de l'appareil. Quand le mécanisme de transfert a terminé le chargement de la cassette, celle-ci est partiellement exposée dans l'ouverture d'insertion pour empêcher alors l'insertion d'une autre cassette.
