A lock for the loading and/or discharging of, in particular, not easily flowing, adhering bulk materials into or out of a pressurized or vacuum chamber through a discharge opening (25) of a discharge housing (3), the operating chamber being adjoined by a housing (1) having an inlet connector (4). Guided in this housing (1) is a piston (11) which transports the bulk material from the inlet connector (4) to the discharge housing (3). During this procedure, the discharge housing (3) is closed off in relation to the housing (1) by an openable valve (26).
