ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Many glass doors with wooden or metal sashes and frames are equipped with bars on the interiors of the door sashes for limiting access to a building. When the door lock can be manually opened from the inside, an intruder can simply break the glass, reach inside and unlock the door. A lock guard for preventing unlocking of the door includes a baseplate with a flange on one side thereof for mounting on the door frame adjacent to the door, so that the baseplate overlaps one side of the door sash and the lock. A hole is provided in the baseplate permitting access to the lock. In order to prevent a potential intruder from reaching the lock, an elongated tube extends outwardly from the baseplate, so that only someone inside of the building can reach the lock even if the glass portion of the door is broken.
