A ring binder locking mechanism has a pair of toggle blades 12 abutting edge to edge with one another within an elongate spring housing 10. A booster trigger 16 is mounted at each end of the housing for locking the blades 12 and their half rings 14 in a closed position. The trigger is of one-piece metal construction and includes a pair of locking arms 32 engagable with the blades 12to lock them with the half rings closed.
